How well does this stay on if you <ahem> sweat?

My one-woman personal assistant business gets pretty physical; I mostly do cleaning and organizing. Can't afford to have customers see it get blotchy or run down my forehead!

In my experience, the product does not run with sweating. In fact, it really only comes off with shampoo. I live in a hot, humid climate, so I always carry an extra with me just in case, but I have never had to use it.

I have never had a problem with profuse sweating, since I am not that active; but do occasionally perspire alot in warm classrooms. When I do perspire, it is especially around the temples. I am careful not to use it too close to my face to avoid telltale signs of the product on my skin. Once my middle school students noticed it on my face--they comment on everythng! I keep it about 1/8 inch from the face and use a waterproof mascara wand for the area not covered by the powder. That did get messy until I perfected it. Practice, Practice, Practice with all new products, don't give up. I use the powder about every other day. However, I do not comb my hair alot. It is thinning at the sides and crown. I run my fingers through it to shape it and use a wide toothed comb when necessary. Being African-American, I have very kinky hair. I love the product. I purchased it for hiding my bare scalp where my hair is thinning, but found it worked on covering gray between salon visits.

Question

What color should I try? Aging has caused my once-blond hair to turn silvery blond; I add dark blond low-lights every 6 weeks.

My skin is very pale; it almost appears pink. Should I get the blond or the light blond? I'm leaning toward the lighter color. Thanks.

It washes out when you shampoo. It's a very fine powder and doesn't require much product to do it's job. It's crazy how it works. There is just color on your scalp that looks like you have hair there. I have to shampoo everyday however. Don't know how it would work if you could go a couple of days. I would guess it would stay on. Hope this helps.

Joan Rivers Hair Powder

I've just started using this to cover my gray roots between colorings. It works well on my sides and part areas and extends the time between coloring my hair. I would recommend it to you. I opted for the Brunette even though my hair has lots of red in it. I heard Joan say she uses the Brunette also even though she has bleached blonde hair.

It does cover grey--if you blend it in--I use for in-between hair coloring! If you have brunette hair watch you don't get to close to front of forehead--after a couple days before washing some 'powder' may get on your face when sleeping--but other than that has Good staying power--I do the sides by my ears--and wear bangs on forehead--so I'm good --love this product--even if you don't have thin areas it give your hair oomph!

Joan Rivers Hair Powder

I color my hair by mixing Dark Auburn and Medium Brown so I chose the Brunette choice for this product. Even though my hair has lots of Red, I didn't think the Red would look good at my roots. Even Joan Rivers, who has dyed Blonde hair, uses the Brunette (I heard her when she was selling this on QVC or her website). It works well when the roots are coming in.

I've used it for over a month and no hair loss or any problems. It is a very fine powder you can't even see it on your head. It just looks like you have hair where there isn't any. It's crazy but it works. My husband thinks it's fantastic. He will even put it on in places that I can't see. So you can now see how easy it is to use.

I am a readhead, and I had the same concern, but I have been using this product for about two weeks and am satisfied with the results. Certainly the color in the compact doesn't match my hair, but when it goes on the scalp, it doesn't seem to matter. When I'm done, it doesn't look any darker in that spot than anywhere else. It's more a matter of hiding the whiteness of the scalp showing through than matching the hair color.

This product seems to be darker than it's discription name. The red is more of a dark auburn or brunette rather than a true red head. Go with the dark blonde versus the red. I do love the product though. It conceals very well, but it is darker rather than lighter.

This color is meant to be darker than the red of your hair, because it creates the illusion of fullness by creating a shadow effect on the scalp. This is a matte powder.

Yes. I have not had any adverse problems using it. It washes out easily. It is easy to apply. It is worth every nickel because it helps extend the time between hair dying sessions.

I love this product. Couldn't do without it. My hair is thinning as I get older and this really hides it. I have tried several colors and actually mix colors when needed. I have purchased this item four times and hope they always have it.
